Rand Paul: Cloth masks are ‘theater,’ lockdown governors ‘drunk with power’
Sen. Rand Paul on Thursday slammed the governors across the country reinstating lockdowns amid a widespread increase in coronavirus cases, saying the restrictions are “completely arbitrary” and the politicians enforcing them are “drunk with power.”
Appearing on Fox Business Thursday, the Kentucky Republican took aim at the governor of his own state, Democratic Gov. Andy Beshear, who announced Wednesday he was closing all public and private schools and reinstating a ban on indoor dining.
“Let’s hope, in this case, the courts will intervene,” Mr. Paul said. “I’ve been calling my governor for months DWP, Drunk With Power, because he’s taken this power without any consent from the legislature.”
