The U.S. Dollar Will Soon Be Fully Digital – Chris Lowe
USA DIGITAL WALLET almost snuck into the CARES Act. So close we barely noticed. The main stream media makes this whole idea sound benevolent in nature. Our society continually falls for any notion that appeals to rampant “for the greater good” mentality.
‘At the height of this pandemic we must do more to protect the financial wellbeing of hardworking Americans and consumers. They are on the front lines of this crisis and are already feeling the effects of the economic fallout. My legislation would allow every American to set up a free bank account so they don’t have to rely on expensive check cashers to access their hard-earned money.’
What does this mean for the average person? Well, a Social Credit Score systems becomes possible. Forcing people into reliance on access to a digital wallet to conduct commerce can easily be “shut off” to dissidents. Thus, this pushes “fringe elements” – people unwilling to comply – further out of society and defunds their efforts. We might see the rise of bartering and precious metals in the black market economies created.
Further, this would make society and the average citizen very susceptible to a “grid attack” because when you can’t go on the internet or your phone to access your digital currency, what happens?
In July 2020, after CARES Act dropped the US Digital Dollar provision, that’s how Republican senator Tom Cotton put it during a recent Senate Banking Committee meeting discussing a digital-only U.S. dollar. He went on…
“The U.S. dollar has to keep earning that place in the global payments system. It has to be better than bitcoin… it has to be better than a digital yuan.”
